In 1983 the family Carling from Gothenburg, Sweden, began playing jazz. They were soon very successful and became known in several countries as "The Carling Family": Hans, Aina, Max, Gerd, Gunhild and Ulf Carling.

Thereupon, conserts all over Europe, festivals and broadcast and TV performances more and more increased their popularity. In 1984 appeared their first recording, "I lost my heart in Dixieland", an LP produced by Phontastic records. Since 1983 they have performed in more than 15 countries of the European continent.

At New Year 2000 the German Channel RTL II recorded a five minute performance of the Carling Family from Hilton Hotel in Frankfurt, which was broadcasted in 35 countries. The musical development of the Carling family has by no means been fixed. Their music could be designated as Hot Jazz, Dixieland, Chicago, New Orleans, Swing and Bebop.

In spite of these different styles played, their music always has a personal color. Above all, their strengh lies in their flexibility. Each member plays several instruments. However, they also know how to surprice the audience, bringing in acrobatics, juggling and tap dance into their jazz performances. Gunhild plays on three trumpets and also balances the trumpet on her lips while playing. Thus: the Carling Family is something that should be experienced LIVE!
